Recent interdisciplinary research spans topics from climate adaptation in agriculture to food security and equity issues. Develop practical skills in areas like geographic information systems and carbon footprinting, while engaging with vital topics such as climate mitigation and adaptation.

What Makes Us Unique

  • Student Research Projects: Our programme allows students to engage in cutting-edge research projects supervised by NRI’s expert researchers. Recent student projects have included analysing bird biodiversity in cocoa plantations, exploring soil management’s role in the UK vineyard sector, and critically assessing the UN sustainable development goals.
  • Risk assessment and Environmental Foot Printing: Organisations of all types are increasingly expected to measure and reduce their impact or climate vulnerability. Understanding how to inform these processes is becoming ever more important.
  • Industry Facing Modules: Understanding new industry measures such as environmental, social and governance (ESG) corporate initiatives is increasingly important for those working in industry particularly multinationals.

Programme Team

The programme team includes individuals across the social, economic and environmental sciences with many years of experience in conducting and leading research both in the UK and in climate impacted regions across the world. Staff that teach in this programme have served as lead author within several IPCC assessment reports.
